Re: Bellypan - Gimbel or Wunderlich?
ROXTR - Any update? Tks. I am traveling to London in end-Feb/early-Mar for work (1 week), and would like to check where can I check out, and even purchase the Wunderlich Daytona Belly Pan? Goggled and found Rainbow Motorcycles - saw it in their price list but not online store. Have enquired if they ...

Re: Bellypan - Gimbel or Wunderlich?
Hi Again,
Am seeking specific comments / thoughts on the fit, build quality and impact on ride (if any). Yet to find any pictures of the Gimbel bellypan fitted on a Rockster - would appreciate those too. Thanks.

Bellypan - Gimbel or Wunderlich?
Hi, Scanned through previous posts on bellypan, and understand there are two options - Gimbel or Wunderlich. Leaning towards Gimbel mainly due to the price of Eur 129 (unpainted excluding shipping) listed on eBay. Anyone has comments / thoughts on Gimbel, or better still on both for comparison? Than...

Re: Mirrors
What you did was an option. Decided against it for I wanted to be able to fix back the original mirrors in the future, for whatever reasons. My new mirrors are clear at high speed / rpm. Since you have widened the screw holes in the mount for M10, maybe you want to try the mirrors I purchased? Build...

Fuel Cat Stabilizer - How Useful?
Hi,
Came across the product while shopping on eBay - http://www.hotfrog.co.uk/Companies/Fuel ... izer-38288. Searched the forum but did not find any discussion on how useful is the product. Anyone has used it, and any feedback?
Thank you in advance!

Re: Mirrors
What Raven experienced sounded exactly like what I went through last two days. Bought a pair of nice mirrors from eBay (Taiwan) that claimed to fit the bike, and found out they were M10 instead of M8 on taking delivery. The shop was kind to ship 10-8 adapters on learning the prob. However, I did not...

Re: Bike Develops Slight Jerky Movements Especially at Low Gears
Thanks for the all the advices. Would like to update on the matter. Sent the bike for regular servicing, tho no requirement for 30,000km. But considering age of bike, decided to bring forward the replacement of various filters - fuel, air, oil, and changed the engine oil (7,000 km since last) and ge...

Re: Bike Develops Slight Jerky Movements Especially at Low Gears
Hi, I am from Singapore, South East Asia. Yes read about coil sticks, clutch & final drive issues on this site in the past. Had a previous problem with ignition, so did search through the forum rather extensively. Hope the cause for the current problem is electrical (coil sticks) and not mechani...

Bike Develops Slight Jerky Movements Especially at Low Gears
Hi, I am riding a 05 Rockster with 29,000 km on it. Over the last month or so, the bike has developed a rather worrying behaviour - jerky movements similar to when in the wrong (higher) gears, only of course that the correct gear has been engaged. Eg when riding in the carpark in low (1st or 2nd) ge...

Re: Seem to have problem starting the Rockster lately
just to share a further development.. since last post, bike started right away, but that lasted for about 3 days, and the old problem returned.. sent back to workshop, and changed the battery after checking it did not hold charge well - voltage for various start stages were as follows: 13.5V without...

Re: Seem to have problem starting the Rockster lately
just to close the loop/issue.. sent bike to another workshop, and discovered a faulty spark plug - all 4 were supposedly changed 2,000 km / 2 months prior?! anyway, changed all 4 to Iridium (from BMW OEM parts) and the shop re-sync the valves and re-set the TPS.. and the bike fires up right away sin...

Re: Seem to have problem starting the Rockster lately
hi boxermania, Thanks for your informative post. I must admit I am not much of a hands-on person, leaving the repair and maintenance to the shop. But I am keen to get to the bottom of this issue, and have been reading previous related posts. I have a few clarifications: 1. The "choke" on t...

Re: Seem to have problem starting the Rockster lately
Hi, Having the same prob, and found this old thread. I am from Singapore - a tropical country. Riding a 4 year old Rocks with 25,000 km on it. Performed 20,000 km complete servicing by agent few months ago. Just changed my starter motor by agent couple of week ago and the prob came. Sent back to age...

Re: Second thoughts...
Call me impulsive, for I bought my rockster without a test-ride. My point is, riding to many if not all is a passion. Consequently owning a bike that you know you just want to have it is a dream comes true. So my advice is, just buy it. As some have shared, and I (cannot flat-foot when straddling th...

Re: How to Repair Scratches on Panniers
lionlady, You are spot-on about the rubber pads - look ok on schematic (on dealer's digital record) but out-of-place in real (on a bike being serviced at the dealer). Also, as with all BMW parts, they are costly - US$50 each. Will take your advice to sand the scratches much as I can, and live with t...

Re: How to Repair Scratches on Panniers
Found out that BMW Motorcycle sells rubber pads for panniers, to protect/cover the exact spots where scratches are usually found, ie front/side mid curved section. Will check it out, and post an update if anyone is interested on how they look.
