Re: upgrade R1200R non-ABS to ABS
There is various opinions on the forum regarding pro ABS and Non-ABS. I have currently the R1150R Rockster with ABS and never really used it to its full extend. In going the R1200R non ABS option I am concerned that I will fly over the handlebars or slide all the way to the accident as this function...

upgrade R1200R non-ABS to ABS
Is it possible to buy an used ABS unit with all missing pipes and build it into a non-ABS bike? I can buy a non-ABS R1200R at a very reasonable price and play with the option to convert it to a full spec ABS bike in future. Will it be just a matter of getting a used ABS unit from a similar bike, ins...

Re: Gearbox oil service
It seems to me I am wrong. The oil is Castrol Final Drive SAF-X0 with viscosity SAE 75w90 and not the TXT one qouted. Is it really necessary to replace these fully synthetic oil so regularly, seeing that it should not get effected by combustion gas as normal engine oil?

Gearbox oil service
I want to do the 40 000km service on my R1150R and according to the service manual the Gearbox and diff oil should be replaced. The manual list API CLASS GL 5 oil with viscosity EPX 90, but I am advised to use only Castrol TXT softec LL01 viscosity 5W-30 fully synthetic oil. I am now confused?

Starting with headlight
It is understandable that the headlight is always for safety purposes, but for me it is not right the start the bike with the headlight on, as it draws current from the starter and at cold days the battery can not keep up with the additional load. Is there any mod available to cut the current to the...

Re: TB Balance.
What you described makes sense seeing that the brass screws do not adjust the air/fuel ration but only the idle. The critical point is that 1100 rpm is the critical factor and to balance the cylinders at this point. How is the air/fuel ratio determined?

Tuning Brass Screws and manometer
I tried the trick of building a manometer using the 1/4 pipes, filled with some water, but to what extend should the brass screws be turned, 1 turn, 1.5 or 2 turns before starting with the balancing. I know these must have a effect on the air/fuel mixture and I am afraid that my bike can end up to l...

Re: TB Balance.
I want to balance the idle on my R1150 Rockster and try to use the Manometer technique as describe in: http://obairlann.net/reaper/motorcycle/manometer.html. On idle i can get it in balance, but do not know how lean or rich the setting is. Should I start to balance this after 2 turns of the brass sc...
