So is it the general concensus that after your computer ticks down the miles from 40 to 0, then you start the reserve, or is it the general habit of cramming every last drop into the tank? My RT actually would go many miles after the computer went below 0 but I always thought it was not accurate as ...

I always assumed the reserve was part of the usable tank capacity. :smt102 As for my mileage, I believe the computer is fine. My speed varies but I have been keeping it under 4,000rpm as I am breaking it in. Historically, on my RT, I averaged 50-60mpg as long as I am not using gas laced with ethanol...

On my 2009 R1200R I rode 280 miles until the computer said I was down to 8 miles. It took 4.586 gallons to fill it. How is it that people say they put in over 5 gallons when the literature says we have a 4.6 gallon tank?

Actually, I was thinking of having the wheels and the valve covers powder coated Alpine white. One way or the other I will post pictures when it is done.

2009 Alpine White R1200R
Hi, My name is Richard and I am new to the board. Today I traded in my 2006 RT on a brand new 2009 Alpine White R1200R. It won't be made for a couple of months but the dealer gave me a grace period of 2500 miles on my/their RT. I live and ride in the Santa Fe, New Mexico area. I'll keep you posted.
