shifting
I was just thinking about the shifting issue this weekend as I burned up the backroads on my '04 RA. I finally have the process down.. the secret is to pull in the clutch so slightly that you'd think the tranny wouldn't shift. A little preload and practically no clutch and the shifting is absolutely...

Shield recommendation
I am 6'2, and the stock touring shield caused a tremendous amount of buffeting and noise for me. Got the sport shield and things are better, but still could be improved. I'm intrigued by the Aeroflow tank wings...a lot of guys swear that they eliminate the great majority of dirty air around the ride...

GO FOR IT
You're considering the exact bike I bought new for my 55th birthday. Best gift I ever gave myself. This bike is a totally different beast. Runs great, stops unbelievably quickly (I have ABS and love it), and won't give you a headache or backache after an hour of riding. I ride with several Harley gu...

topcase
David....I have the Hepco-Becker setup as shown and it's great. If you have a silver bike you can get a silver top on the case at no extra cost. Pricing is very reasonable, and the installation is easy and very secure. I have the optional toprack and backrest and it's a nice, compact (40 l) setup. B...

Being a back patient (had a blown-out L-5 disc laser-vaporized in '83) I'm acutely aware of riding position comfort and discomfort. If I ride a Harley (or any bike with a vertical or leaned-back riding position) long enough to hit a couple of average bumps, I'm ready to get off and do something else...

backrest
Once again I'll sing the praises of the Hepco-Becker set-up....real steel rack (functional), 40 litre topcase (nice) and backrest pad for less than $300.

the last thing to go.....
all life's issues are heating up...long distance relationship is running out of steam (she won't even look at a bike), job is becoming iffy and absolutely no fun anymore, tenant disappeared from my rental property owing me 4 month's back rent, my 24 year old suddenly moves in for a "little down...

topcase
As I've posted before, the Hepco-Becker rack and topcase are really slick and inexpensive. The forty litre Journey (available with silver accent if you have a silver bike) and rack (direct bolt-on, and a real rack...make that functional rack and cool looking) will set you back only about $225.00 PM ...

I've got to put in my 2 cents worth.....changing the beak on the R is like marrying Streisand and then asking her to get a nose job.

Hepco-Becker
I can't say enough about the H-B rack and topcase. Had mine about 3 months now and I love it....especially the rack! You can actually strap stuff to this thing and not worry about it. And the pricing is great...check this stuff out if you want a functional AND slick topcase arangement.

I know we've had a lot of discussion about the topcases, but after seeing a lot of cases on this bike, I still think mine looks the best. It is a Hepco-Becker unit, and the luggage rack (nice unit, actually has a very functional front riser piece) and the case go for a little over $250 delivered. My...

camfarm...how 'bout some pix of that modified rt screen...I've been suffering the turbulence from a BMW sport screen, and I'm looking for an option. I'm considering cutting up my BMW touring screen, maybe cutting it down and taking a notch out of the center kinda like a ricky racer shield. Anybody t...

my understanding is that BMW does not offer an extended warranty, and that the better aftermarket warranties don't have to be purchased until your bike is nearing the end of it's original warranty, either trime or mileage, 36 mos or 36K. Please correct me if I'm wrong, as I do intend to purchase an ...
