Re: Good dealer for service?

Try Mathias BMW in New Philadelphia, OH. Best service I've ever had and the most reasonable prices. Plus it's located in an area with several very scenic roads.

Sooo, having just come off an H/D did you consider taking off the muffler, getting Screaming Eagle pipes, rejetting the carbs and adding lots of chrome yet? :-)

Heated Grip Failure

On my 04 Roadster the throttle heated grip doesn't seem to be working but the left side is fine. Where are the weaknesses that cause the failures? What areas can I look at that might be repairable instead of replacing? If not repairable is there a good place to get a replacement for just the one sid...

I am aware of all of the seat makers and their customizing options. But my personal finances do not permit me to spend the $500+ dollars for a custom made at this time.

Corbin on 04

I have an 04 Roadster which came with what I thought was the stock seat but ended up being the low version. I'm 6'01" with a 34" inseam so you can imagine how uncomfortable I was for awhile. I was able to find a BMW tall seat which is a good height (could be a bit taller for me) but as mos...

Re: Genmar bar risers / backs

Why use the same old plastic tie wraps? Why not use small Velcro straps. They would provide a wider area of contact and you can regulate the amount of tension so as not to over tighten. I'm just sayin.

Re: Sargent Seats?

So I finally got a chance to do more then an ice cream run ride in on Sat. I must say I find the Sargent seat quite comfortable on the butt but no so on my knees. Going to call Sargent sometime this week and inquire about the cost of raising it up at least 1 and maybe 2 inches. Oh the joy of a 34&qu...

Re: Disaster!!!! (I think)

OK, here's the information I've been able to find out from certified techs and BMW dealership owners. One of the worse things you can do to the drive line is to lug the engine below 3000 RPM. So if you do a lot of around town driving try and keep your revs at 3500 RPM's or higher. Also another thing...

Re: Sargent Seats?

So a few more observations on my Sargent. Twice, after baking in the sun all day, the seat felt supremely comfortable. It's like the foam needed to melt a little bit or something. No shortage of sun and heat here in PHX to test your theory! I have a Sargent arriving on Wed so I will have my own opi...

Re: Argh!!!! I scratched my tank!

The good news, I got my Stebel Nautilus Air Horn installed under my tank - the thing rocks! =D> Bad news - somehow my tank is scratched - looks like it just made it through the clear coat, but not into the paint beneath. Any ideas if there is a way to fix this? Any help will be appreciated. I'm pre...

Sargent Seats?

Like many of you I am not satisfied with the stock seat options offered by BMW. I have had good luck with Corbin in the past but have never tried any other after market seat maker. I have been considering a Sargent seat partly because you can purchase just the riders seat but there seems to constant...
