Re: Slow Speed Mauvers By Roseville PD on R/T's

I believe BigEasy is referring to the How to Ride Like a Pro series by Jerry "Motorman" Palladino.

Re: Slow Speed Mauvers By Roseville PD on R/T's

If you want to learn how to countersteer, it is simple. Take an ERC (experienced rider course) offered by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. Go to www.msf-usa.org to find one near you. I know, I am a police officer and a ridercoach.

Re: Rear Organic Brake Pads

I have the same rear caliper on my bike. It is an early release 2002, which was purchased by the first owner in June 2001. I just now realized that I don't have the little retaining clip for the float pin. I bet it has been missing since the rear pad was replaced by the dealer in 2004!

Re: somebody clarify tire replacements for the bike!

I believe Jeff is talking about the new Dunlop Roadsmart, which replaces the 220. It has a dual compound rear tire like the Pilot Road 2 and the Battalax BT021. And it is priced right smack dab in between the two.

Dyna Beads

Dyna Beads: Anyone using Dyna Beads for wheel weights? I'm considering using these when I put on new tires. The web site says that Goldwings and BMW's should use 2 oz. in front and back. I think that a R1150R would be fine with 1 oz. in front like the spec. chart shows. Maybe an LT, GT, or RT shoul...

Re: Rear Organic Brake Pads

Thanks again Airman. I found them at Motorcycleproshop.com at $25.00! Bikebandit.com wants them for $26.95. The 2008 EBC organic pad # for our bike is now FA363. =D>

Re: Rear Organic Brake Pads

Thanks for the info on the EBC's. Yeah, the lowest BMW organic that I have found is about $51. If your bike was built after 10/02 it should have a different rear caliper than mine, and takes the sintered metal pad. If you get around to it, can you post a picture of the caliper? Just curious on what ...

Rear Organic Brake Pads

Rear Organic Brake Pads: I have a pre 10/2002 R1150R with Integral Brakes. The rear pads are organic (black metal backing) and are about shot. I have been looking around at prices for replacements. I found that Carbone Lorraine sells a replacement for less than $30.00, but it appears to be a sinter...

Re: 2002 r1150r leaking rear wheel drive

I too have a 2002 R1150R that now has oil and dirt accumulating around the vent and the rear boot. I keep tabs on my final drive oil level and transmission oil level and never seen it come down. So I'm curious too what people have to say.

Re: "BRAKE FAILURE" Light

"BRAKE FAILURE" Light is back! Thinking it has something to do with moisture, as the bike was wet from sitting at work in the rain. The first time the light came on, I was riding home from work in the rain. I don't have the rear pillion seat on right now as I am patiently waiting for Rick...

Re: "BRAKE FAILURE" Light

New battery did the trick! No more fault light. Replaced it with an Odyssey PC680. The engine also cranks over faster as well. Thanks to all.

Re: "BRAKE FAILURE" Light

Convinced it is the battery. Put a charge on it for two hours last night, and checked the voltage. It was at 13.7 last night and now it is at 12.4 after just sitting there. Thats a 10% self discharge! Next question is that when I disconnect the battery and put in a full charged new battery and ride ...

Re: "BRAKE FAILURE" Light

Yeah, I had the wire tie problem back in 2003 when the short caused the wiring harness to catch on fire. Luckily, it was under warranty at that time. That is when I got the new battery. If the temps dip below 45 F, the battery barely cranks over enough for it to start. I think my battery tender has ...

"BRAKE FAILURE" Light

Has anyone ever had the "Brake Failure" light come on and stay on due to a poor battery? Brakes work fine, i.e. servos, abs, light, pads within spec. But my battery is five years old, and the volts just don't seem to be there. 13.9 at idle, and when I kill the motor and leave the ignition ...
