Just went out in the garage and looked at mine and it does appear you are missing a cover of some sorts.

one more thing, did you get up to Highway + speeds on it? The reason I ask is that V-tech windscreen placed all the airflow on my helmet, after riding for an hour my neck was sore from all the head movements, also made my eyes tired from a constant vibrating view, that's why I went with the sport sc...

You can get bar risers on eBay, very simple design, installs in minutes and no other mods needed. good luck on the purchase. Just search "r1200r" on eBay, if you can't find them I'll get the name of the company I got mine from.

Re: Searching for an aftermarket Silencer for R1200R
I have the Staintune slip on installed on my R, if you'd like to see what it looks like my bike is listed in the Buy/Sell forum. You can remove the baffle or keep it in. I run mine with baffle out (I think it's more of a silencer plug) and its a little louder than stock.

Re: Aftermarket Sidecases/Saddlebags for the R12R
To all of those who recommended getting the BMW side cases...you were right. Went on my first ride with the Fieldsheer soft side cases and tail bag, we ran into some rain, I put the rain covers that came with the cases and everything in my side cases got soaked! the tail bag worked fine. Luckily I h...

There is a set of system cases for the R1200R on eBay. The price is at 255 and the reserve has been met. I'll be watching this.

Re: New guy looking for a R1200R
I have a 2008 R1200R (Black) ABS, Onboard computer, Staintune slip on exhaust, GS Hand Guards, Sport screen, All TSB's done, 600 and 6K service done by dealer. Bike has 8,000 miles on it. I'm looking for $11,800. PM me if interested, I do live in VA though which could make this a deal killer. I have...

Re: Aftermarket Sidecases/Saddlebags for the R12R
I just ordered the Fieldsheer 3 bag system, only cost me 200 bucks, I'll see how well it does when I head on my trip in May. I'll post pictures when they get here. I'm researching a soft 3 bag system and I'm all but decided on Cortech TriBag. The Fieldsheer offerings look interesting but I'd like t...

The 1000 dollar price tag was what I priced from a local dealer and that included liners and locks.

Re: Aftermarket Sidecases/Saddlebags for the R12R
Thanks for all the responses, I must be the only one but I don't like the OEM sidecases, not to mention the price of over 1k is ridiculous in my opinion. I like the idea of spending a few hundred on sidecases and get a Mayer saddle for the same price.
Thanks again though

Aftermarket Sidecases/Saddlebags for the R12R
I'm getting ready to make some long trips this spring and would like to get some aftermarket sidecases or saddlebags. Does anyone have any? which brand and how well do you like it?
Thanks in advance

Northern VA rides
I'm in the southeastern part of VA and am going to meet up with a buddy from the DC area, was wondering if anyone knows of any good rides up in that area, looking to do about a 2 to 3 day total trip on some nice twisty backroads.
Thanks in advance

Re: Black sport shield with or without pinstripe
I did paint the back side, my spring and summer riding kills a lot of insects of varying sizes which requires frequent cleaning of my windscreen, it just seemed easier to paint the back.
