TB sync on 1200 models
Traded the 1150 for a R1200GS. A little problem is I feel the TB could be better balanced for low speed work. The 1200s have not the bypass screws for idle balance, there is no manual fast idle control. How is the TB balance done for idle and other throttle settings for these engines? The 1200 is no...

Out with the old 1150 and in with the 1200
Said goodbye to the R1150R thats been a pleasureable ride, traded in to a R1200GS. Its very much like the R but a few inches higher to ride. Still got that low end thump low down in the rev range, Its lighter than the 1150 and the motor is a bit smoother. So far so good. but I feel the TB could be be...

Oil
I've had this problem with CX500 and FJ1200, with both bikes it was due to short trips in very cold weather. Always worst if the oil had just been changed.
Make a long trip once a week of about 50 miles to heat up the oil and get rid of the water in oil.

Thanks for your replies, checking the cables I found a broken wire on right side throttle, tho not stopping the function of the throttles I see how it may give the symptoms when seen with the Twinmax on highest sencitivity. If the problem is due to worn/leaking throttle spindle, would a spot of oil ...

The above article is excellant. I had read this before which was very useful to me having never balance the BM type of carbs/TB. The responses 1,2 and 3 on page 16 do not fit what I saw on the Twinmax. When I open the throttle the indicator swings to the left momenterily, then when I close the throt...

Re: Washer
There should be a thin crush washer pre-installed on the replacement oil pressure switch. If you use any sealant (and you should not need it because of the crush washer), use very little. Use something like Locktite 565. Sealant will affect the grounding path of the switch which will give you a fal...

Oil pressure switches - am I just unlucky
Last year I found my left foot was getting covered in oil as was that side of the bike. Fortunately it was just a leaking oil pressure switch. Now the replacement switch has gone faulty by not lighting up when the main switch is turned on, then somtimes it does, then somtimes it comes on dim. The ne...

TB imbalance problem and excellent Twinmax
I have completed the service with new spark plugs, adjusted the valves, and checked the tube clips for tightness. Next, connect Twinmax to the throttles and mount the TM onto the tank so I can observe the balance while driving at speed. At idle the TB are perfect in sync, at any contant speed the TB...

What are your thoughts on the WET performance of your STs, They were good for me in the dry, but thier performance in the wet made me try Z6s and I think they are a better tyre in dry and the wet.
What was it like for you?

Try before you buy. Go on urban and highway roads. If it feels ok, make sure if you buy the bike, it comes with a warrenty.

Yes
And the dried up mark that it leave can be easy wiped clean.
Take off the light unit by looosening off the screw at the bottom
remove the bulb(s)
poke a clean cloth inside on the end of a stick/dowel that wont scratch,
you will find it reaches the tide mark.

Does the K1200S come with a center stand, or could you have one fitted in OZ?

The ST is great bike to drive, but the negative reasons start to add up when you start to "spec it up" ABS, center stand, heated grips, chrome pipes, luggage. Here in the UK your over £10000. Then the waiting list. The price is very close to the RT that comes with more goodies as standa...
