Re: Aerostich, anybody..
Or Olympia? I've had plenty of friends with the Aero suits. I felt they were a bit too heavy and there was the wetness thing. I am currently testing the Olympia Phantom suit. It has 2 zippers from ankle to hip and 1 long zipper from neck to rt hip. All of the zippers are taped, sealed and velcroed t...

Re: sourcing brake! led
JB, I had that same problem contacting them. Seemed to be a few dead links. I finally got their Canadian number, and someone on the other end answered the phone. I explained that I needed a new set of the thin bolts and plastic spacers. I offered to paypal them a fiver, but they declined and sent me...

Re: Accident #2
Tower, heal fast, get back on the horse! As part of my background, I had a tibial plateau fracture in '93. Driver pulled out in front of me, sending me over the hood and onto the ground. L plate, 5 screws, plus screw in my ankle, oh and 3 broken bones in my rt hand. No wt on that leg for 3 months(I ...

Re: sourcing brake! led
I have one. I bought it for my 04 GT. Bike got totalled, but I pulled the brake light. I have the LED, nylon spacers, original instructions and itty bitty long screws that brace it. I tried to install it on my 04 RT, but the brake light hole is to small to fit it in there. New price was $120, yours ...

Welcome to the club!
RRD, Excited to hear you had such positive results with your first commute! As a motorcycle mentor, its great to see you are taking the chance and getting such immediate feedback. I commuted for 20 yrs using only a m/c as my main source of transportation. Don't just stop at the BRC, get enrolled in ...

They are popular on sportier bikes. They are colored throughout, so they don't turn black. They are not specifically retreads in the sense that a new slab is stuck onto an old tire. I've known people who have used them for sport riding, and they were surprised that they worked pretty well considerin...

The first 100 miles - RT Road Test
So, I received delivery of an 04 RT Saturday morning. Put it on the charger, and went out. Came back and invited the wife for a ride, curious to see how this thing does. The following is my impression of the bike, review, and some input for others considering the push towards the touring side of spo...

Cleaning RT windscreen, film?
ok, so now its official. I picked up my "new" 04 RT yesterday. Its oriental blue, a few nicks and scratches, but overall in excellent condition. I notice some bugs and tar on the w/s so get out the Meguiars scratch-x. I use it regularly for schields, plastic cleaning and scratch removal. I...

Wil E, et al, Glad to be of assistance. There are a few different scenarios to consider. If you are just on a tourist, or work visa, you can own a US spec vehicle/bike/car and not have to meet any of the EU standards. If you are planning on staying, or your US vehicle registration will expire, and i...

(where is that blushing emoticon), No, but I play one on tv. I actually haven't driven the RT, a single mile, but was curious to see if there were any upgrades other than pipe/header combo. I will probably get that first - Remus sounds good. I will probably also upgrade to the Ohlins after 30k or so...

How bad do you want them? They are sold by the thousands in every Walmart/big box store in Germany. They are just a cloth type cover pant, that streetworkers/laborers/construction/tradesman wear. I have a friend still in Germany who could get them in a minute and mail them. Just need your measuremen...

FNG saying hello
I'm kind of backing into this forum, so bear with me. My SIL can't afford his 04 RT, so there's me taking over payments. I think it will fit my wife's butt better than my long time friend, a '97 Honda VFR. I previously owned an 04 GT, but it self-destructed in a roundabout at about 12mph(fell on lef...

My version
hmm, Why is this on the R forum? um, maybe people occasionally exceed the limit on their bikes. In my case, I dropped off my car in Germany, and picked it up 30 days later near LA. Anxious to get out of town before the morning grind, I was up at off by 4:30. Cruisin along in my G35 coupe at about 90...

Bike shipping
howdy! I just shipped an RT from TN to CA. A friend recommended pacific freight, so I contacted them and got a quote for $800. I did a search on m/c shippers and came up with youship.com. With youship, you enter a bid and people compete for your business. I received 3 offers within 6 hrs for less th...
