Just a thought--have bikes that experienced sudden battery death had huggers installed? Without a hugger, the battery is exposed to whatever the rear wheel throws at it. Just wondering.

My right heated grip has stopped working. Before I start tearing everything apart, does anyone have any ideas. The left grip works--maybe too well like it is getting all the juice. Could some moisture have gotten under the grip and shorted something out?

I have had the same experience several times on my 2007 R1200R--warning light sequence happens, but nothing from the starter switch. After viewing all the posts on R1200R windshields, I have come to a conclusion: (1) Use the sport shield (which is the best looking shield anyway) and stay below steady speeds of 70 mph. (2) Get an RT. Apparently, nothing else works.

OK, I'm doing my own research. Since the axle is torqued to 50Nm, it looks like a special tool is needed. I found one at Cycle Gear, called the Motrax Axle Wrench No. 54113. I had a similar thing happen to me. I turned the key and nothing came on. Since I hadden't anything else to do, I switched the kill switch off and on and the bike returned to normal. Try it next time--its worth a shot.

Compared to a HD Dyna Series (including the superglide), there is little or no vibration in a R1200R. I've ridden both bikes extensively. I've had good luck finding the torx drivers I need at Autozone. Don't bother with going to NAPA. They almost never have the correct stuff.

There's a picture of what I'm talking about on page 121 of the June 2008 issue of BMW Owners News (upper left hand corner of the Parabellum ad). At 24 inches, it's probably too tall for me. Someday I'll figure out how to post pictures here.

I know this was asked some time ago but I don't think it was answered. Has anyone had any experience with the Parabellum Sport Windshield? Note: I'm referring to the Sport model--not the Scout, which is totally different and not my thing.
