Brass Throttle Body Screw Stuck!
The left-side throttle body screw (big brass one that you use to adjust the airflow) is frighteningly jammed. The right-side turns freely, but I stripped out the left one something fierce trying to get it free. I didn't go at it half-cocked. I used a wide, crisp flathead screwdriver. I saturated it ...

Re: Motorcycles in TV Shows
In a home theater store last year, I saw a 5 minute clip of (what I assumed was) a B movie titled Ultra-Violet in which the lead (hot girl, vinyl bodysuit, purple hair) rode a silver R1150R straight up the side of a building, then somehow launched it airborne and rode it through a helicopter(?). I d...

Re: Motorcycles in TV Shows
It would be faster than an RT with a BMW motor, that's for damn sure.

Motorcycles in TV Shows
Watching the new Terminator show on FOX. One of the main characters (the GOOD robot) rolled up on an R1150RT wearing full highway-patrol garb, including big mirrored aviators and a white helmet.. I suppose it was a not-so-subtle nod to Terminator 2. My peeve? The RT sounded just like a 4-cylinder sp...

I fit a pair intended for the R1150GS. I had to do a little bit of dremeling on the spot where it clamps to the handlebar (I'd advise you use a wood file for a little more precision). Also, I needed to shift the switch pods just a tad... snip a zip-tie and move some cables a tiny bit. It all fits, b...

I don't know if some Rocksters shipped with an Overdrive gear, but mine certainly didn't. My father had a 2003 R1150R Roadster, and in top gear it would cruise at very low RPMs (so low that a downshift was REQUIRED to accelerate at highway speeds). He used to get pretty excellent gas mileage. Now I'...

Has anyone actually ran their Rockster til empty? Mine comes on green pretty reliably at 1.5 gallons. At 2 gallons, it'll be on while the bike is on the sidestand, but once you right the bike and rev the engine, it'll go away. UNFORTUNATELY, that tiny little green LED has proven to be damn near invi...
