Re: EWS Ring Now Has a Service Bulletin

Got my brake recall done and they also did the EWS ring but no mention of a software dealio but no worries as my bike runs great and as I'm just 50 miles or so away from 2000 miles it seems the engine has run in great and I've got no issues or complaints.Idles and runs smooth as butter and I've not ...

Re: Enduring my meandering on selling the R

I have a Duc that I bought to keep the R12R company and it's working out famously.I pick and choose depending on the mood and the purpose of the ride and it's keeping things fresh. Having the Duc has shown me that if I could only have one bike that the R12R is the perfect choice.Every time I get bac...

Re: Variety is the spice of life

Yes it's a Hypermotard 1100.To say it's the polar opposite in just about every way in comparison to the Beemer is an understatement. While it's got a nice torquey engine it doesn't like to be under 4000 rpm regardless of what gear you're in.They got the model name right as Hyper it is indeed. You ba...

Variety is the spice of life

Just brought home a new addition to keep the R12R company. It's like night and day from the R12R but thus far we're all getting along good.Life is good!

Re: Bypassing the CAN-bus by direct wiring the accessory plug

My dealer did that before I picked up my '07 R12R at no cost. It's a really easy switch or so they told me.
So yes it can be done.If you're buying new just get your dealer to do it for you.

Re: To buy an R1200R or not to buy an R1200R?

I got my '07 R12R about a month and a half ago and I came off an '07 F650GS and the R12R is just so much better in every way. It's so well balanced and carries it's weight well and to me I don't notice it being any heavier or bigger then the F650GS despite what the specs may say. The engine is magic ...

Well just so you know some of us have contributed and our color remains the same. :?
Apparently Doug hasn't gotten around to update some of us so be careful about judging those in blue.

Re: ANTENNA KEY RING MALFUNCTION

Bummer.Sorry to hear about the trouble on such a new scoot to boot. Yes and I'm curious if EWS is appearing on the screen as that is the antenna ring code. Either way it's a shame that something this dumb is even an issue at all with the 1200 series bikes. At ADVrider there's a poll on this very fai...

Yeah looks like apples to oranges.
Now if I was looking to get a bike for just pure fun the Ducati Hypermotard would be in my garage.

Re: New BMW Tail Bag, plus other farkles

Looks great. :smt023 Do you have the part # of that bag? I don't see it on the website and I would like to look into getting one of those for putting stuff in for commuting so I can take the side cases off. ( I am not a fan of the top case on the R12R). thanks D. +1 I'd like to look into one as well

Re: Thinking of getting back in with the R1200R

My riding background is mostly dirt such as yours and I got an F650GS last year and got back on the road after having a 750cc Virago plus a couple of small dualsports a while back. I made the switch over to the R12R two weeks ago and there's no comparison between it and the F650GS.The F650GS is not ...

Looking good.
For my usage I doubt I'll switch out the sport shield.I don't find the airflow an issue at all and I agree on it helping to keep you aware of your speed as it's so damn easy to get speeding in an hurry on this thing on the highway.
