Re: Oil level slowly dropping
Matt
The manual even says that MAX oil consumption is like .85qt/500 miles. So that is about right guess.
I don't care it runs like stink and does not mark its turf so I am happy.

Re: Oil level slowly dropping

Re: Kickstand baseplate
They make them but they are like $30. I just got a piece of alumnum ground to shape so as not to hit anything when folded up. Drilled four holes used countersunk screws, washers and nylocks. Not pretty but paint it flat back you can't hardly see it. Put the screws up thru the bottom, use the washers...

All
I am pretty sure that a "overdive" gear ration must be below 1 to 1.
My Guzzi has two ratios (4th&5th) that are below 1 to 1 .
Since our/my Rockster's ratios are over 1 to 1 there are no "overdrive" gears.

Re: Idle for a month...gettting back on the road

Push it around and work the brakes to get any surface rust off the rotor(oops thinking of my Guzzi ours are stainless I beleive), make sure the clutch is working and not stuck t...

Have you checked for broken or loose CAT mounts. I don't seem to feel much differnce or any at all. Is your exhaust tip nice and tight?

I had one of those too. It is nearly impossible to keep tight and was almost completly rusted in 2 months. I am not trying to sell these myself just telling you will you not be happy with the one you ordered unless you live in "0" % humidity and have no salt within a hundred miles of you. ...

Take a look at this post over in the Rockster section if you might be interested in a SS tip as a muffler replacement.
