I like second hand books.com and just got mine (Clymer) in almost new condition for $29 with a few bucks for shipping. Not sure what they would charge to ship to Mexico.
While I was there, I ordered Jupiter's Travels and Long Way Down for more moto reading and dreaming!

Re: Engine Guard, Pegs and Tank Bag
Tank bag model: Mine is a Nelson Rigg tail bag or tank bag. At the time they called it the 902 in black and carbon. Many different magnetic tank bags are around and I think they have changed the NR bag a bit since I bought it. I took a couple of pictures of it on the bike, but I cannot figure out ho...

Re: Best tires
Fwiw, on my K100RS, I switched from Dunlops to Metzler Z6 when I got tired of the rapid wear. Wow! They seem more sticky to me, yet have lasted longer and still have a ways to go. They also seem to ride more smoothly, more luxuriously. I looked at the rider reviews and I never saw any negative comme...

Re: Givi A240?
Not very many options for my Rockster either. Perhaps the Givi could fit it too with just a bit of adjusting. What sort of mounts does it use?

Re: wiring auxiliary lights
The idea of the relay is to have the full juice from the battery go as directly to the lights or horn as possible. Running light power up through the switch and splices, then back down to the lights draws away critical juice. A quarter volt drops your illumination significantly. Solder and wrap your...

Re: Engine Guard, Pegs and Tank Bag
I love my magnetic Nelson Rigg tank bag. Expandable and easy to put on and take off. Take your bike to the store and ask if you can 'test fit' the tank bag you are considering. One suggestion: don't buy one with a narrow map pocket opening. My K100RS has an aluminum tank so I needed a tank bag with ...

Re: Gonna Keep This Bike........
Unpredictable or clunky shifting can be the clutch adjustment. Too late to make a difference in your case, but going through the steps to adjust it could have solved your one issue. I own a Rockster which is a touch taller in the seat than the R model. At 6 foot and with relatively short legs, 32 in...

Re: To replace battery or not?
Make sure that you charge up the battery as well as you can before you take it in to be evaluated. It sounds like it is toast, but you could get lucky. Many bike owners buy a new battery when they buy a used bike just to start out knowing it is fresh. Bikes sit around a lot which is not good for a b...

Re: Rockster Headlights? FNG Question....
I put Piaa 1100's on my K100RS in the same spot on the front calipers. They are awesome for 58 year old eyes! They make a big triangle with the headlight and people stay away from me! Run them all the time. Only challenge is the vibration seems to make the filaments go out sooner than they may have ...

I think I hear that cash register sound when I order BMW parts!
You don't see too many of them since they didn't make too many of them. That must be why there are not a lot of aftermarket options available.

Re: Rockster Luggage Rack...homemade
Do you have any BMW shelf part numbers? Mine has the hard luggage, so I would need mods like yours. The home made one is on a different frame due to lack of luggage racks.
Many trunks available, but no aftermarket shelves that I can find.
Wow on the reflective tape!

Re: Buying a BMW 1150 Rockster
Was it in Walla Walla, WA? I bought that one with a Canadian speedo. So far, an damaged eBay instrument binnacle for $50 supplied a US spec speedo that worked perfectly! I am hoping to have a paintless dent removal dude fix the tank dent. Flatted the rear tire on the first 4 mile ride! Looking for a...
