Re: The Scout fairing arrived

Long term review/update After about 8 months, a few trips and a bunch of switching screens back and forth. I ran the 10", 18", 20" and even cut the 18" down to 15" and ran that. We'll, the winner is the short 10" screen. That conclusion even surprised me after my initia...

Re: Brake shudder/judder

Later bikes with the problem appears to be a dirt issue. Those of us prior to the change in both the rotors and buttons can have a dirt issue also or warped rotors.....like mine does. The service bulletin back in 08', or there about, that allowed the owner to get the rotor and button upgrade has run...

Re: replacement of oem heated handlebar grips

Here is how it is done on the Oil Heads. I don't know if it works the same on the Hex Heads.

Re: Anyone tried the new Tourance Next?

Come on guys...... It does not matter what bike you own or how you use it. No combination of those two things is any better than the way anybody else chooses to enjoy motorcycles. No one has to apologize for buying a bike and using it how they see fit. Garage queen or epic world traveler, there is ...

Re: Anyone tried the new Tourance Next?

I'm not really looking for a tire that'll handle nasty stuff, but I am a little concerned about the direction "dual sport" tires for larger bikes are going. They seem to be catering more and more the GS/Multistrada wannabe crowd that only rides on pavement. No question about it, you are d...

Re: Anyone tried the new Tourance Next?

I'm sure we have all run real dual sport tires on our real dual sports. I've run Tourances, TKC80's, MT21's, 606's and a few others on many nasty off road adventures. I know what off road traction is, I don't expect any tire on the R to be much in that regard. Even my best knobs met their match on t...

Re: Anyone tried the new Tourance Next?

Ya know, the Scorpion Trails are billed as a 95/5 tire, just like the second generation Tourance. They are really a sport bike tire with a great cornering reputation. The first generation Tourance was billed as a 80/20 tire and the latest Tourance Next is billed as a 90/10. My other issue is 7k is t...

Anyone tried the new Tourance Next?

I loved the old Tourance on my GS and the new Tourance, the "Next", comes stock on the Wethead GS and comes in the R sizes! . I have a set in my basket at Revzilla but have not pulled the trigger yet. It is billed as a 90/10 street/dirt split. It won Motorrad's large bike dual sport tire s...

Re: The Scout fairing arrived

i have been giving a scout fairing some serious consideration. being short at 5'2" i was thinking of getting the 10" as well as the 14" Call Parabellum and talk to the woman who answers, I forget her name. She is great to work with and knows more than we do about sizes. See what she ...

Re: The Scout fairing arrived

Quick riding impressions 3 screens, 10", 18" & 20" No surprise, the taller the screen the quieter the ride. The woman at Parabellum recommended the 20" for me based on my being 5'-11" tall with about a 32" inseam. I really loved the looks of the mini 10" screen...

Re: The Scout fairing arrived

Nice - looks good! Your bike is so clean. Mine hasn't looked like that since it rolled out of the dealer. True, I guess. My riding buddy, dbrick teases me about that all the time. I must admit, I enjoy having a baseball game on the radio and hanging out in the garage tinker with something. So...

Re: parabellum Scout Fairing pics

Thanks to both MT and David R for the info. Looks worth considering. I had sort of hypothesized that a fairing rather than just a big screen would do better in high winds and it sounds like that may be the case. Between the bridges and the passes, I ride in a lot of high winds. Getting blown around...

Re: No barbacks or risers

Rad, what brand is the handlebar brackets and where did you get them? That looks like it would work well with the F800ST handlebars I put on my R1200R. My riding position was too upright. This took a little load off my lower back and changed the ergonomics to something sportier. John They came on m...
