I am in need of a few things to make it complete: **The Federal Signal (or whatever make) rear light pole with either a red, blue or (preferably) CLEAR lense **A amp driver for the sire...

Re: How to change the rear brake pads (w/ pictures)

Post retraction: D'OH!!! I went out side one more time to close the garage door and thought, I'll try it one more time before it's totally dark outside. Took is all apart, re-assembled it and it slid right in! How dumb....it was a very easy job indeed. Tomorrow, I will bleed the brake line and test ...

Re: How to change the rear brake pads (w/ pictures)

I am rather experienced in changing brake pads on a variety of cars and trucks and now, motorcycles but...the problem I am having is getting the pads apart enough to slide between the rotor...not easy and I certainly don't want to goof up the pad's surface by chipping them trying to get them over th...

So the heating element is most likely good still and it's a matter of continuity? Hmmm...I will consult by electrician friend.

I am good with mechanics but electrical???

Thanks.

Funny that this subject is coming up...just last night, I noticed that my left grip is not heating at all. The right side is toasty warm but the left side is kaput as they say in German. Now what do I do, Ollie? Hopefully it si a cheap and easy repair similar to my headlight connector that CycleRob ...

Well, the rains have finally stopped in the Northeast Ohio Region and I was able to correct the quick disconnect problem which was the source of trouble from the get-go. CycleRob was instrumental in prompting me to take the necessary action in cinching the female connector together in addition to ad...

Unfortunately, I did not have time this weekend for the needed connector repairs--between other committments and the weather closing in on us here in Northeast Ohio, nothing was done on the bike but...this week if it should ever stop raining, I will disassemble the connector and crimp the female end...

Good morning to everyone: Great news...headlights / taillights are working properly and here is the final verdict. There is a quick connect plug going from the port side handlebars sprouting from the low beam-high beam thumb switch to the headlight. It too had the tell tail green wire-white wire com...

Hmmm...from my recollection, there is no switch below the iginition key. My switches are located on or near the hand grips. I'll check again but...

Electrical Gremlin--Headlight / Taillight not working

So here is what happened: The other night I started the 1998 R1100-RT-Police Issue and the headlight (both high beam and low beam) illuminated just fine during a one minute warm-up. I pushed the bike forward off the stand and the headlight flickered as if the motor was about to stall and electrical ...

Thanks Wayne. The real issue I have is being able to disscern IF in fact, the oil level is really where I think it is. It is still difficult to check and my fear is over filling as well as running a bit dry. The bike has 55,000 miles on it and seems to be in good working order but it could be due fo...

How to Properly Check You Oil Level Sight Glass R1100 RT-P

Aside from standing on your head and using what amounts to a gunsmith's bore light, how would one go about verifing the oil level in the crank?

I am amazed that solid German/Bavarian engineering would be content to having a sightglass as a way of checking oil. Dumm Kopfen :!:

Suggestions??
