*UPDATE*
Just pulled the tank and found that my airbox was wide open.
I cleaned my K&N before the trip and did not secure it back proper

Re: Dramatic Power Loss/ Engine Knocking on interstate.

Pictures of the left and right exhaust manifold and cylinder heads.. the left is missing the upper exaust valve which I assume was chewed along with spark plug. http://s1302.photobucket.com/user/gongetya/slideshow/ at this time I'm really wanting to replace both cylinders and heads and hope that wou...

Re: Dramatic Power Loss/ Engine Knocking on interstate.

does anyone know if I can use cylinders and pistons from an R1200c for this repair? I have an 04 R1150R Rockster. Also if anyone knows of any direct links for parts interchange lists between the R bikes, that would be greatly appreciated as well. I may post this request on other parts of this site i...

Re: Dramatic Power Loss/ Engine Knocking on interstate.

Used parts? (from BeemerBoneYard). The barrel, head, piston with rings should be less than half the cost of new parts. Can you upload some pics of the damage? Thanks alot for your help. I am looking on BeemerBoneYard and ebay and I've been looking in the BMW classifieds on different forums as well ...

Re: Dramatic Power Loss/ Engine Knocking on interstate.

considering the cost of the expensive replacement parts and labor it may be cheaper/quicker to put in a used engine as the right piston/cylinder is also damaged.[/quote] CycleRob, would I need to replace the entire engine or can I just replace the pistons and cylinder heads on both sides? I would l...

Re: New Rock Owner, Seat Question **CONFIRMED DIAGNOSIS**

I have 100% confirmed that the R1150GS seat will not physically fit on the rockster. Not even with hardware modification. The actual shape of the seat puts loaded weight on the rear side trim panels and also leaves a considerable gap between the seat and motorcycle body. I tried this with a Sargent.

Re: New Rock Owner, Seat Question

Yea RICEBURNER, I think you're right. I'm fairly innovative and may be able to make it work if it's only the seatpan. Then again, I havent seen the seat in person yet and hardware modification won't make a difference if it just wont geometrically fit around the tank etc.. I'll do a write up on here ...

New Rock Owner, Seat Question

I'm In New Orleans and just got an 04' Orange Rockster with 50k miles on her. She's wonderful. It's my first German machine and I'm impressed. I will never go back to Japanes or American made, although the Italians are putting out beautiful bikes :-) I know alot of the R1150 GS parts are interchange...
