My FJR is every 26,000 and it has never needed an adjustment yet in 30,000. So the shim under is ok. My G650XCh has not been adjusted yet in 15,000 miles of pounding a single down the road either. However, I do prefer to have a simple boxer motor that I can adjust myself....

Re: Off Road Tires
Thanks! I have been riding since the mid 60s and I am humbled by your experiences. I really like the concept of an R1200R and Pirelli Scorpion Syncs. Even the 616s wouldn't be bad for where I live.

Re: Off Road Tires
I had an 1150R, 1150GSADV. I am looking seriously at a new 08 R1200R. It is well equipped and a considerable savings over an 09/10. I really like my G650 XCh and my FJR, but sometimes....We have 1000s of miles of good 2 tracks here in NV. I think the lower center of gravity and lighter weight make t...

1150R barbacks
I just listed a set of RCU barbacks that raise the bars about an inch and bring them back about 2". I had them on my wife's bike with the BMW Touring Shield.

RS
When my wife and I replaced our F bikes, she got an R and had it lowered and I got an RS. I typically rode a lot in the winter and I wanted the better wind protection & more hp is always good. That was in 04. I recently traded mine in and I am restoring her R to somewhere between a Roadster and ...

Differences between Rockster and Roadster
When we bought our 04 1150R it was for my wife. She has now quit riding it. We had Works Perf shorter shocks and a custom low saddle done for her. I want to restore it to stock, but I also want to start planning a little customizing ala Rockster for me. If I recall, the Rockster utilized the shocks ...
