Re: I'm looking for Edition 80 images...

on the most part I'd say yes very few have the money or resources to properly mod their bikes, beyond the basic bolt ons I know as mine took me a quite few months to rebuild from scratch, but also depends what you actually want from your bike some ppl like stock, (go figure) things like the hot cam ...

Re: Thanks for nothing BMW

No offence but you do own your own tools right?

as that one is a very simple repair, takes less time than replacing the clutch

you might try looking up the BMW recalls to see if that had ever been listed ;)

Re: Hmmm, and yet another Edition 80

Cudos on a very clean bike, =D> The wunderlich bars are more for aesthetics than real crunchs, however look good with the spots mounted last set I saw had to be removed from inside the rocker covers & off the valves, mind you that accident was @ 50mph as for the plastic BMW units good if you dro...

if you want a nice increase you could try the hot cam system I find it to be very crisp when I grab a hand full of throttle

And loud enough when you blip the throttle in london traffic

Re: Shocks, shocks and more bunk.

BMW have always had a bit of a problem with their shocks longevity..... [-o< std routine was to keep the springs & replace the shock with Koni's Still these days you can get a fairly cost effective deal from hagon since they bought Koni @ least these are rebuildable & have a 2 year warranty

argh! #-o
should have mentioned that ohlins have discontinued the rear Rockster shock...
so unless old stock can be found or a friendly dealer will make one from spares.... [-o<

as an alternative there's always wilbers (U.T.Y really) ;)

hi riceburner, having fun yet again I see [-X If you have the rockster sport shock ...then, yes, difference ......the roadster (R1150R) std has a shorter length shock.....so handy if your having trouble reaching the ground :smt046 you can however use the Ohlins BM350 on the front & BM349 on the ...

Re: Wobbling at high speeds

By special edition I'm assuming you mean the Edition 80?

some of these have a slighty shorter paralever arm making them a touch unstable @ higher speed

easiest trick is to use the adjustable arm .....& adjust to your own comfort zone

Re: How many have had a bad ABS pump?

ok firstly the main reason for the cut off switch is so that you can reset, the abs controller, secondly so that you can go off road  with the evo system you MUST reset the unit if the bike is dropped..... ](*,) the main problem with the evo unit is its power consumption Vs the totally crap...

Re: Fresh battery but still trouble starting

firstly the BMW batteries are junk! :smt013 I've known politicians to hold a promise longer  the oddyssey PC680 is a very good alternative, especially if you have ABS but as for your starting problem, the main thing to check is the starting solenoid, the starter motor is just that, a motor,...

Re: How many have had a bad ABS pump?

you can have a spare .....here across the pond I find they're cheap enough to pick up, about £100 up

or you can wire in the ABS cut out switch, just in case either the pump fails #-o
or you just want to go off the beaten track

Re: Fuel consumption - 100 miles to a tank!

ok tweetyoost ...... I use either the Brisk LGS design plugs or NGKR racing plugs because of electrode positioning as I want direct fire of spark (high efficienty), not electrode spark distortion (less efficient) I'll assume you replace all 4 plugs at the same time? as most ppl tend to forget the lo...
