I've been riding my 2000 R1100R for almost 12 years and 152,000 miles. I have (almost) nothing but good to say about it. Hey-after living with someone for 12 years, you can't help but to have some disagreements... But, I love her with all my heart ennyway.

The neutral switch lives on the back side of the transmission, inside the opening of the rear housing, just in front of where the swing arm attaches to the transmission case. There is a flying wire attached to that switch that connects is routed out of there and connects to the wiring harness... uh,...

...an older thread, but I'll chime in. I always wear full textile gear: pants and jacket (water resistant, but not water proof), water proof leather boots and gloves. Light rains don't get through. I love riding in the rain. For heavy rains, I slip on a rain suit over my road suit. It's a lot of has...

I have 150k miles on my 2000 R1100R. The final drive was replaced under warranty... I honestly don't remember how many miles at the time - under 50k. It failed again around 90k - this time, I sent it off to a private shop to be rebuilt. It failed again at 145k. I knew it was going, so I had purchase...
