Re: Additional Lighting for '11 R1200R
How do you like the light output of the MotoBozzo lights? I have the Skene's on the back and really like them. I've followed bikes with them also and they're great at grabbing attention.. much brighter than the tail light. Looks-wise, not that great but they're pretty small compared to that BMW thin...

There's a pile of light vendors on ADVrider.. I was thinking of going with the Lumalinks and maybe these: http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=839163 Same people are also engineering an LED headlight replacement but don't have one for us quite yet: http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=...

Re: Anyone using SW-Motech Quick-Lock Tankbag?
I have that gasket on my 2007 along with the Quick-Lock ring.. but the older style, not the Evo one.

Another SF R12R that I always see is a white or crystal grey one, going up Folsom in the mornings with a Pelican top case and an ADV sticker. Tried talking to him once, but he has ear buds in with music going, so he can't hear me.

I was sort of counting on the fact that with only one wheel down, I'd have less friction and better mileage

Re: Booster Plug
Yeah, I had reset the MPG with the current tank, so that's why it was changing so quickly.. Luckily it went back up after some mixed freeway riding.. it's hoving around 40 now after using most of the tank, so not as bad as I was thinking. I was expecting it to go down since that was the experience o...

Re: Booster Plug
Ok, just as an addendum.. Before the booster plug, my bike backfired and burbled like crazy when decelerating in gear (I have a Leo Vince pipe.. didn't notice the backfiring much before adding that). Now, not much at all. It also does feel smoother at lower speeds. On the bad side, and this shows it...

Re: Booster Plug
Just installed the Booster Plug but haven't taken the bike out yet. Thanks for the directions / diagrams in the first post. It seemed to help me to remove the panels on both sides, not just the left, since they're both mounted to the tank. I just held the tank up from the back with one hand while in...

Hey Hooligan-
I have a ZTechnik screen that came on mine when I bought it.. I took it off since it was buffeting for me on the freeway. You're welcome to try it though if you want.

There's one on CL in LA also, specifically mentioning that they used it for their R1200R (which is why it popped up in my news reader)

Re: Planing a longer trip. Need some advice.
When you're riding south from SF on the 1, you might consider cutting inland on the 92 and then continuing south on Skyline (35), and then take the 84 back to the coast or continue on 35, or try any of the side roads around there. That's a pretty famous motorcycling area, and you'll get plenty of co...

The Comfortshell seems like a decent buy now with closeout discounts.. the San Francisco dealer announced a 50% off open-house deal, so I assume other dealers will or are blowing out their inventory also.

Re: reluctant to shift into 1st from N.. on new R1200R
Glad you posted this thread since I've been having the same issue with the used R1200R I got recently. Was just starting to wonder if I had a costly repair in my future.
I've just been starting in second when that happens, but I'll try the methods everyone mentioned.
