the shoulder pads of my jacket sit just perfectly. About 90% of the pad remains outside the sewing line of the sleeve on the shoulder. Perhaps my shoulders are somewhat narrower...
awesome jacket by the way. I can't remember liking any other clothing as much as I like this one.

Just as an alternative, in case anyone may find it useful. I really did want the bmw vario case ( made for GS) because of the adjustable volume and the key thing. And because it looks good :) So I bought one, and made an adaptor plate to be able to use it on the R. This was my first ever milling job...

After 3 years on stock seat upgraded to Touratech high version. (made by Kahedo). So far happy with it.
