Re: More senseless violence against dead horses-yup, windscr
I have tried the BMW touring screen, and the smaller sport screen. Then I bought a C3 helmet and have been riding without a screen, and with Hearos plugs. No buffeting roar. The C3 is very quiet looking straight ahead, but you'll feel like you're wearing an airplane rudder when you turn your head.I hav...

Re: R1150R windshield
Good thoughts. In my case, with 1 bike, I'm just trying to maximize the enjoyment under all conditions. However, after my latest experiences, I think for me it is best to go without a screen, and dress for the weather instead.

Re: R1150R windshield
I've just gone through this myself.I bought the bike with the touring shield and hated the buffeting. I took off the shield and bought a Shuberth C3 for too much money, but now find riding without a shield much quieter.Great helmet. I did buy the sport shield, which uses the same mounts I had left i...

Re: My bike's value?
Last June I paid 7k for an 03' with 6000 miles on it.Abs, bags and touring windscreen, no scratches.I feel that was high, but now i've got 13,000 miles on the bike and I have had a great time with it.Between the miles, the club, the magazine, and the people I've met (including a girl I went to HS with...

Re: Got a 1600GTL as a loaner
I tried the 1600 recently too.Agree with the apparent lightness, power, and lack of fun. Also love the adjustable screen , which I could raise until my head was out of the buffet zone, and all you could hear was the turbine like six.Unbelievable. Also tried the R1200R, and as a 1150R owner was surpri...

Re: Cee Bailey windshield
Hi. I got my 1150R last June, and the windscreen noise & buffeting are really my only gripes with it. Short of going to the rally and having everyone trade bikes for test rides, Max's BMW was having a fall color test drive event at Hunter Mountain in the Catskills. I was able to try out a R1200R...

Re: Tire Advice: old front + new rear
I put Dunlop sportmax front & rear when I bought my 03' last June. The rear was replaced in June of this year (flat spot in center) after 3k , with a Michelin road pilot 2 (the shop I use didn't have the 3).3.5k later, it looks almost new.Handling seems fine to me. The Dunlop front is wearing une...

tire question
Hi. I bought an 03 r1150r last June, and am having a great time with it. However, the rear tire has developed a flat spot in the center and will have to be replaced. Is there a problem replacing it with a dual compound Michelin, when the front tire is a Dunlop. I will not buy another Dunlop, at leas...

Re: Lower pegs
I might be interested in those parts. Have an 03' r1150r and feel like a jocky on a racehorse when i'm on it for long.
