Re: Shorai Power Lithium Batteries
. It looks like everyone seems to be happy with the product and the only glitch seems to be having to 'warm' the battery on a really cold day..... That glitch you mention could lead to the non-initialization of the ABS module found on BMW bikes. That for me was enough to go back to the oem battery ...

Re: Shorai Power Lithium Batteries
Maybe i'm just stupid and there was a solution that others have used that I didn't think of... You're not. Some have attached the pads to the battery itself and others have used the pads to build the base and heavy-duty velcro to secure it down. Remember to account for the charger plug on the batte...

Re: Remus Hexacone Titanium exhaust
I believe it will run fine but it would run even better with a dyno tuned PCV+AT. There are plenty of threads over at ADVriders re: the subject if you can't find a better answer here. OAlvarez, my search at ADV Rider came up blank, can you provide a link? I will keep looking for that. That's intere...

Re: Remus Hexacone Titanium exhaust
Do I have to buy a power commander to help optimize the performance of the header, given I already have the K&N and the slip on (I ended up buying Leo Vince instead of Remus) or will BMW's fuel management system accommodate it? I believe it will run fine but it would run even better with a dyno...

Re: Remus Hexacone Titanium exhaust
I first installed the Remus slip-on about a year ago and was pleased with the style, sound, and lighter weight compared to the stock silencer. Then recently I decided to splurge for the Remus headers to complete the system. The headers are amazing as the engine purrs and I like the sound even bette...

Interesting. I guess it's not necessary to put oil into the oil filter prior to installing it?

Re: Santa named Fedex just brought me Shorai Battery
Shorai is now recommending their 21a for some of the BMW lineup, amhik. Spoke to them yesterday about my ABS module initialization failure (at startup, in the colder temps, battery dips below 9v) and they agreed to send me the 21a for the difference in price between it and the 18a I was using in my ...

Re: Exhaust
i liked the Zard exhaust that i installed on my R12R....just a bit louder and a bit deeper/throaty. the weight saving was the biggest benefit. not having a removable baffle was the negative.

Dean, it was a pleasure meeting you and your wife, and it was even better seeing how happy you were with the motorcycle. Enjoy it in good health, thank you for the kind words, and I'll take you up on that ride offer any day of the week.

Sunny, Questy, i really don't think it's very difficult to understand. the r12r is a great motorcycle, i never said otherwise, and Questy, please don't mis-quote me. it's for sale because i want to sell it, and someone else is going to benefit because of it. Ric, the first service was performed at B...

Re: New Owner: 2009 (new) BMW R1200R..thank you Santa Rosa BMW!
i finally took delivery of the motorycle! my nephew picked it up two weeks ago and rode it back to the bay area. he put on a total of 700 miles riding it between Santa Rosa and Santa Barbara where i met him this past Friday on my Guzzi Stelvio. We enjoyed a great night in town and headed back to Los...

Re: 1200GS vs 1200R...highway riding question
You'd be surprised how few R1200R's are sitting in dealers in the SF bay area. Even harder to find a used one for sale. You can't cross the street without being hit by a speed triple, but these R1200R's are hen's teeth... NorCal is absolutely correct.....i called what seemed like 20 dealers in all ...

Re: Fair Purchase Price '09 1200R, 2100 miles
Drive a hard bargain! I am writing a check today for $11,000 OTD for a new 09 with ABS, computer, side cases, center stand, heated grips and I am thrilled. ANd BTW, thanks to all of you for all the useful info that has been posted on this site. I hope to contribute some myself, once I get this ride...
