Re: Am I crazy: How to convert a r1100rl to an R1100S
Hi, I am the one sweatmark is talking about. I'd say forget about converting a RL to a S Model. The S has a totally different frame, front fork (and bridges), bodywork, wheels, engine, final drive and so on. It would cost you a fortune. Even modifying the RL in terms of power, ergonomics, etc you m...

Re: Am I crazy: How to convert a r1100rl to an R1100S
You're crazy. Actually, the cleanest, most impressive R1100R projects I've seen is Oliver's Roadster documented somewhere here. He not only grafted key R1150R parts onto the bike and changed ergos with handlebar modification, but went the full distance with engine tuning. I've ridden R1100S and bot...

Am I crazy: How to convert a r1100rl to an R1100S
I am looking for an R1100S but have yet been able to find one locally that is the right price/configuration. I do however, have access to a really low (4500 miles) mileage R1100RL that is at the right price. My question is, would it make sense to try and convert this to an S configuration? What woul...

Re: Wind Management question
Thank you. This particular one does not have ABS, which might be show stopper for me. I loved the ABS on my K bike!

Wind Management question
This week I tried out a R1100RL. It was a very low mileage 2001 in pristine condition. Here was my impression after a short 30 minute ride on the back roads in New England. Feels heavier than I expected (coming of a K1200RS I was surprised) but was very balanced. The upright position took a little g...

2001 BMW R 1100 RL: Does it have ABS?
Does anyone know if the above model comes with ABS as standard or was it an option?

Considering a R1100R or Honda Interceptor
Firstly I apologize if I have upset anyone with even the comparison in the same heading of this post. I have been a BMW fan for a long time, rides being 1985 K100RT and 2002 K1200RS. I am looking for a new bike that will be fun to ride, simple or low cost maintenance and will do the daily duty as we...
