Shudder
'04 w/19000mi. At about 70mph coming up a long, fairly steep grade; 6th gear; tach @ 3500; a sudden vibration. It felt like a front end shudder, but I'm not sure of that. I slowed and vibration/shudder left. On the next straight away (no grade) I hit 70 again, this time in 5th gear. Same vibration. ...

air filter
BMW has required (suggested) intervals for replacing the air filter. Is it unwise to examine the current one, and if it looks undamaged, clean and reuse it?

Thanks for responding you two. It is comforting to have others share an opinion.
Because antifreeze evaporates more quickly in hot weather, I've tried storing some extra in the catalytic converter on long trips. Seems to work well.

Retie?
I undid the wire ties up front under the horn. I did not see a need to retie them loosely or at all.

This is a bit off topic, but I visited your country for 2 weeks this past Sept. We were in Alberfeldy for 1 and Pitenweem for 1. I have never enjoyed myself more. The people are wonderful. The country is more beautiful than the postcards promise. Found one of my ancestral starting points on the Blac...

engine guard hiway pegs
I've got Hepco Becker engine guards on my R1150R. It seems a natural place to mount a set of hiway pegs, ones that would fold in when not in use. Anyone know of such an aftermarket product, or heard/seen one that's homemade?

That was wonderful. Thanks. I have never wanted to see or be in Arkansas. You have changed that. It may have something to do with the 6" of snow we got last night....but I don't think so.

I notice the MRA screen for the R1150R only comes in smoke/gray tint. Is this shading any problem for you guys? I think I'd prefer clear.

Re: New owner
I have yet to pick up my new '04 R1150R. I think I've heard enough to believe that the fuel line QD(s) should be replaced. How many are there? I thought 2. The above indicates 1.

Re: another new owner
Rich: Thanks It is going to be hard not to like it. It is a physically handsome machine and if I don't like the test ride, I can walk away and fly home. But, I will admit I'm spring loaded to the like position. You must know, of course, once a Yankee always a Yank, especially true if your from ME, b...
