Re: If Ever I Was Tempted to Ride Squid...

Re: What IS or ARE the solution(s) to increase power engine

Buy a 2011 R1200R ! I was wondering how to soup this up as well. After 800 miles I now think its pointless. This machine just flys, It seems to go as fast as I want it to. For the street you couldn't ask for more.

Re: Switching to non-telelever front forks

I agree. Keep it original. It must have been close to a total. It scares me a little that the front is 2/3 the cost of the bike.

Re: Exhaust

Look, the R1200R is not the bike that needs exhaust modification; It doesn't need loud exhaust to block the sound of parts falling off as one goes down the road. Nor does it need a loud pipe to mask the sound of eminent catastrophic engine failure. The R lacks for nothing. Save the money for vacatio...

Re: Smoked grey metallic matte is so tempting …

I agree it does look bland in the showroom but the sunlight changes everything. The Matt grey matches the bikes disposition.

Yeah, mine too; 150 and 75 straight up. Perhaps they changed the speedo shortly after the introduction of the new model.

This is what I would do! Put the stock exhaust back on and never think of it again.

2011 R1200R The Perfect Roadster?

I should have stayed off but could not resist the temptation. I picked up my 2009 R from the service department for its yearly service. Our service manager asked if I had tested the New R; and there is one right over there. I have to be honest mine is nicer looking! (White/silver wheels) I said. Jus...

Battery or electrical?

I have the bike on a BMW tender. Dealer did the 600 mile service two weeks ago, I have 1000 trouble free miles on it. The bike sat for two weeks, I know, I was busy. Today I was going out for a ride and the gauges were not responsive like normal. I had to play with the key to get them to light at al...

Re: Handlebar Question

Well, my last few motorcycles were sport bikes. I think a flat drag style bar would be more comfortable on my arms. That said, I have seen the picture at the bottom of the second page in the photo section. I like it a lot. After posting the question I searched around to get an idea what was involved...

Re: Woke up today and deceided to buy a R1200R

Philbie, Take the computer, tire monitors, center stand exc. My bike did not come with the tire monitors. I wish it did. You would quickly know if the tires are low. My snow flake wheels loose 4lbs or so a week. The computer has a neat feature miles to empty. Finely the center stand is just handy. N...
