BMW R1200R R1150R/T F800 K1200R R1100R/T R1250R RnineT Message Board

I live in Upstate NY and have been told that, at this time of year, the gas has a winter formula, different from summer. And that with the winter formula your mpg goes down considerably. Happens to my R12R, R1150GS and airheads.

The R12R bags are great. Their one big shortfall is that they do not hold a size 14EEEE spare pair of shoes too effectively. A chronic problem I suffer from.

Weather has been pretty good in upstate NY. Been out riding again for the last 2 days. 11:00 AM and 44 degrees in Albany, NY. Salt and wet roads are currently history.

I retired this past summer. So far this year, the coldest I have ridden is 16. Just has not been colder yet this winter (at least here). Coldest on the R1200R is 26. Mine has about 3500 miles on it after about 8 weeks. No oil use in the first 600, but I did add oil riding home from the MOA National in Tennessee. I find it to be most simliar to my naked 83R100 just doing everything much, much better. I am a happy camper so far, and thanks to Don E.
