Re: Is the Rockster for me?
I went from an 1998 F650ST to a Rockster, basically (along with the Funduro), the predecessor of the F650GS. That was earlier this year. Actually, in terms of ergonomics and riding characteristics, you won't find going to a Rockster that much of a change. The riding position with the flat bars and d...

Welcome from another UK forum member,
I can deduce from the reflection of your bike's number plate that you are in the UK. You might want to add your location details in. Moderators like that sort of thing!
p.s, those cylinder head covers aren't standard.......so your list of extras grows

Re: Paint Bubble on LHS Cylinder Head
God, I've already done the forks. Black Hammerite job, looks like the cylinder covers will be next. They are a fiddly shape so I feel a winter project to find a sand blasting/powder coating specialist close to me is coming on.

Paint Bubble on LHS Cylinder Head
Spotted something on my Rockster today which made me wonder if I was dreaming. You know, one of those moments where you almost pinch yourself to see if you are still asleep. While having a glance at the oil level window I noticed what appears to be a perfect bubble of paint about an inch wide has fo...

Re: WHAT PAINT SCHEME?
I'm guessing custom now, I'm not the first owner and the V5 lists the bike as black/orange.
Yet another addition the original owner made

Re: WHAT PAINT SCHEME?
So, question, what is a Blackster? I ask because I suspect that is the paint scheme I have - all back plastics with a chequered flag motif across the oil cooler covers, along with blue frame, cylinder head covers, forks and wheels: http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll71/Maxis500/rockster/bmw1.jpg I...

Re: UK Newbie says Hello
Riceburner, interesting what you say about the colour scheme, because I havn't seen another one the same, even in photos, so you could be right. No real issue other than the dealer should really have informed me if you are right. Other than that, love the bike. Boxer twins are silky smooth after fou...

UK Newbie says Hello
Title says it all really, I'm new to the Rockster but not to BMWs, having owned an F650 for the last four years. However this spring it was time for a change and to transition onto a Boxer twin of some description. After plenty of research I narrowed it down to the Rockster, after sitting on a R1150...
