New K owner

Hey guys, you may have seen me on the rockster pages. Just last week, I traded my 80 Edition rock in for a 2006, very slightly used, low mileage KR. Silver and Black. I was hard pressed to make the trade. I REALLY liked the Rock..but after a ride on the KR, with it opened up on the highway....I was ...

Paul, I can't believe I just "chanced" on this thread. I have an 80th Edition Rockster..and I think that I mustn't be too far from you (I'm right outside of Philly on the Jersey side). I was also contemplating selling the bike...not sure yet...I have another I want to test ride. E-mail me ...

Tire repair

Guys and gals...a general question. I've never had a tire punctured until just recently. A Nail. Not near the sidewall. I "temporarily" fixed it with a "plug". My question: Can this tire be repaired sufficiently? Or do I need a new tire? I'm told that my dealer will probably try ...

Hey, Like some of you guys, I'm being "courted" w/ the idea of trading in my rockster for the K12R. It's been miserable cold here...no one's riding and I haven't demo'd the new bike yet. What should I expect? Is the K12 going to pull my arms out of the sockets? How is the ride different th...

Damn'd you! I was all content w/ my 80 ed...sitting out in the garage all warm (since it's in the single digits this week), when I thought I'd take a ride down to my local dealer. Your post was drawing me to check out the K12R. Well...I DIDN'T buy one yet, however my dealer is promising me a deal I ...

Install was easy..very straight forward. 02 sensor was able to be mounted w/o any problem. Bike has a nicer subtle growl compared to the stock set-up. It appeared to run a little rough and hesitated for a little while, then cleared up and ran terrific. I'm supposing that some type of control module ...

Mine looks more like the bottom. I think I'm going to use one of the clamps that connected my header to the cat.. to connect my y-pipe to the can..

update: After looking at the bike, I figured out the "bracket" part. I still don't know how the can attaches to the y-pipe. As I mentioned, I can't find any springs. On the y-pipe, I see a couple of attachment points where it looks like springs could fit. I don't see any place on the can f...

remus install question

Just got my remus carbon can and y-pipe connector delivered today. Will install tomorrow. To those who have done an install, I have a couple of questions (since the pieces didn't come w/ directions). Looks straight forward except it says to "install the silencer w/the suppied bracket onto the c...

sorry for beating this subject to death. The supplier mentions that Remus mufflers (except Carbon) never need packing. I'm interested in Carbon. Is re-packing the can something we can do? How often do you do it? Where do you buy the "packing"....Thanks.

I was about to order a Remus system this morning when I thought up a question. The supplier that I would order from advertises a "y-pipe connector" with no mention of a port for the O2 sensor. They also list a "discontinued" "y-pipe connector with premuffler" which allo...

I just popped my can off. Took under 7 minutes (once I found the right size socket, wrench). It's pouring rain here...won't get a chance to road test for awhile. I don't think it's too loud at idle. I posted a message today re: a Remus system. I may give this "no can" set-up a whirl first....

Riceburner, I finished reading the posts re: "the can is off" from beginning to end. Rather than the Remus set-up, I was dead set on removing my can and placing a small tail piece until I found that at the end of the thread, a lot of the guys were returning to stock set-ups. I still may tr...

remus system

List, I have an 80th anniversary edition Rockster. Want to replace the stock can (and cat?). I'm sure this topic has been addressed but couldn't find it. I'm looking at a Remus system. A couple of questions. I'm only finding one on-line "store" that carries the system for the 1150R/Rockste...

Fozzie, I checked out that "smumug" gallery. I liked that Cee Bailey Screen modified for the Rockster. Can I contact/find more info. re: that screen from that gallery website? I couldn't find any access to the person who submitted the photo..

rockster windscreen

Just put money down on a 80th edition Rockster. Love the ride. Will pick up in a couple of days. Previously I've ridden a DAKAR. I want to put something up front to block some of the wind. Don't like BMW's large "touring" screen. I've been looking at a smaller "laminar lip" from ...
