Under the seat stuff...
Wow...that's impressive...I think I'll be adding some items to my kit based on what you've done. One thing I now keep onboard is a 1/4 snap-on ratcheting torque wrench with a step up adapter to 3/8th's. I ditched the QD fuel disconnects in favor of straight tubing so I don't need those, but seems to...

Risers
It's done! I put Rox Risers on my edition 80 last week and it's like night and day! The 2" up and back change the whole feel...much more comfortable. The salesman at Rox risers was very helpful and interested in the details of my bike and why I wanted to do this. The only issue I had with the p...

Handelbar risers
I've just bought a set of GS handguards for my Edition 80. To mount them with the Parabellum windscreen I currently have on I'll have to put on barbacks or move the screen foreward. I checked out the Rox Risers web site and they look great...did you use the adjustable type? I'm also wondering if the...

starting question
Avgas has a higher "vaper point", I think that's the correct term. Essentally, it's refined to the point it will not vaporize as easyly as auto gas. Diesel fuel mixed with regular gas brings up an old story. I think it's regulation that all planes now have the type of fuel they use clearly...

Quick disconnects
This is turning into a real saga .... I posted on 7/28 about using the small parts disconnects and how they looked great and worked....well, I was about 75 miles from home friday on a 3 day trip to Omaha...and my Rockster just quit dead on the road north of Kirksville Mo. It would start and run at i...

Throttle body sync.
Oh dear I just went through this (In addition to replacing those horrible fuel quickdisconnects..another thread). First and foremost, valves have to be right...I could get the next higher size feeler gauge in both my exhaust and intake when I opened the covers. I used a twin max, and chased the need...

I'm back up and running today!! This was not too hard at all, just a bit Pricy$$$..Good excuse to go out and but more tools though. I called Omega and sure enough they were back ordered out to Aug. 6th, so I went with the small parts. They lady at small parts had obviously delt with bike owners befo...

Disconnects
I've been lurking around these boards and reading about the fuel disconnect problems for some time, so when I started smelling fuel yesterday, and then noticed staining this morning on my 04 Rockster I knew right where the problem might be. I pulled off the little black cover and sure enough the low...

Jack up the seat
Well...that looks like pretty good solution to a problem. I kind of had to go the other direction since I couldn't plant my feet flat on the pavement. I pulled off the little rubber thingys and ground off the posts, then drilled out two holes about an inch lower, welded two bolts in and cut them to ...

Well I had to get out in the cold today (feels like it will never end here in mid Missouri), and haul a bunch of stuff for a remodel project on a rental, and it required some driving in a snow covered yard and a whole lot of backing and manuvering. Truth be told, until SOCALROB posted above I had ne...

Lot's of good advice in these posts...here's my $00.02.. I've had two trailers in the last 12 years, a 4x7 "golf cart tilt, and for the last 10 years a 5x10 tilt necessatated after buying a bigger lawnmower. 5 years ago I realized I just did not need a pickup anymore, sold it, and have used the...

This time last year I was getting down to the brass tacks of which BMW bike I would purchase..first BMW and first bike in 20 years so I really did some soul searching. I would have liked a GS. Riding an R11XX is a statment, but the GS people seem to be a way of life and dare I say culture?. That sai...

I've had one on my rockster since I bought it last April...I've been very pleased. The "tall Screens" for the rockster come in 16,18,and 20 inch height..after much thought and measuring I chose the 20" size. I'm 5.11 with a 30 inch inseam, and I do think I could have went with the 18 ...

Missing inspection cover
I need advice and council real bad right now. I was washing down my 04 rockster, getting it all cleaned up and ready to pull the valve covers to do an adjustment (My first time, 12k miles), and as I was looking around for the inspection hole on the right side, the one that's supposed to be covered w...
