Re: gear lever adjustment

I've been struggling for the last hour or so to remove and refit the gear lever ball joint linkage and came across this page when I had to turn to google for help. - the key is to remove the metal clip altogether. On first inspection the clip appears to be connected to the ball joint itself - it's n...

Re: Exhaust System for the Rockster

The only complete system for the R1150xx that I could find was the laser hot cam system. Complete system meaning headers, link and end can. After years of searching I eventually tracked one down on ebay for a reasonable price. The complete system cost close to £1000 new! With mild engine tuning work...

Re: UK 2010 Rockster meetup

Afraid that I’ve only just checked this thread. More than happy to arrange a meet point, camping, pubs, roads whatever:) RB: I’ll PM you.

Re: UK 2010 Rockster meetup

I’m just outside Banbury so it would be rude not to attend. Weekend\Day Ride\Meet for lunch is all fine by me. I could look to put together a route if required. Sounds good to me :D

Re: Who wants to guess the bill?

Hey RB. Steptoe is very good so you should be in safe hands although if it was me, I'd be looking at an ebay gearbox and final drive and doing the work yourself. It's pretty easy - hey, even I can change a gearfox and FD. Worth keeping ebay spares in stock, just in case ;) I was going to say £1300 -...

Re: Bosch 02 sensor for Power Commander

Unscrewing the OEM sensor and installing the aftermarket sensor is no big deal. However in order to get the most from your PCIII you’ll want to get it setup properly. I’m in Banbury, UK and my local engine tuner will install and setup the power commander very cheaply. He’ll also be able to source th...

Re: Dilemma

Hey RB, already quoted on that thread :)

Think of my bike as a sports GS :)

You’d have to be mad to take a GS offroad never mind a Rockster ;)

Do we have UK Rockster meets? Does such a thing exist

Off topic I know

Re: Dilemma

Jas: Believe me when I say just buy an R11XXGS rather than mess around with the Rockster. It’s much much easier to fit 17” wheels to the GS than it is to fit 19/17” wheels to the Rockster. My “easy” project has ended up costing a small fortune and it’s still not finished. Whilst I’ve enjoyed working...

Re: ROCKSTER SHOCKS

Standard R1150GS shocks are significantly taller than Rockster shocks. You’ll need to fit a GS side stand, centre stand and Paralever strut if you’re fitting GS shocks.

Re: Dilemma

I’m currently running a Rockster\GS hybrid. I bought the bike as an ongoing project and have modified it further. R11XXGS wheels will fit the Rockster but the front wheel will only just clear the mudguard with road tyres i.e. tourance. There is not enough clearance for a TKC80 tyre. The only way rou...
