Fuel line

2002, one owner, 26K miles

Fuel line quick disconnect leak, fixed with FI clamps.

It won't start if it is below 10 degrees Fahrenheit, (but I really don't like riding in that kind of weather anyway).

2002 Atlanta blue, purchased new June of 2002 from Big Sky BMW, It now has 25,000 miles. Windsheild wellnut fell out and the extendable mudguard fell off in the first 15 miles. I attribute those to dealer assembly error, dealer replaced. Dealer did 600 mile service. Local BMW motorcycle wrench does ...

What are the metal spikes sticking up out of the exhaust pipes directly under the jugs? Some sort of oxygen sensor? (They look like spark plugs. Finally, I thought, a triple-spark boxer!) I can certainly see where they have evovled the design in many places that really matter; power, adjustable seat...

I was 25yo, 5'6" (167cm) and the R1150R was my first bike, (and still my only bike,) and I dropped it 3 times in the first 2 months. Just some scratches, which don't bother me at all. I haven't dropped it again in 3 years and 20,000 miles. Since I haven't grown taller or stronger, and the bike ...

I was vaccinated 3 months ago. I am a respiratory therapist at a hospital, so I am considered to be in a very high risk group purely because of how much exposure to the real bug (virus) I get. dano's comments are exactly right. Alot of people don't differentiate between common URIs and the flu (and ...

I haven't used my kill switch since my last crash. So I had it modified to deploy the parachute out of the small black canister on the rear frame rail. It's a synthetic parachute with the words "Do not follow closer than 500 feet" in blue on a white background. I only have one leveling scr...

Please tell me that what we Americans know of as "country" music is not known to the rest of world.

Do Oz or the UK have any specific genres of music which are popular only within their shores?

I love good, strong, fresh ground coffee. However, (and I'm embarassed to say this,) I drink loose leaf tea mostly. What a wuss, huh? My coworker pointed out though that, to his knowledge, all of the great despots and dictators of the last two centuries were tea drinkers.

Oh well.

The pillion seat looks like it was modified into a luggage compartment, or maybe that where they stowed the NOS!

Not only do I go through a bulb every 18 months, but then I go through a nightmare getting the screws out from the ring the bulb is mounted in. Last time I stripped out every little phillips head. They were made out of the softest steel I've seen since I was a kid dismantling cheap Chinese toys. Thi...

I have a throttlemeister on my bike. Would I still be able to use it if I put a set of handguards on? It appears as though the end of the right handguard is bolted onto the tip of the handgrip, and that would keep the throttlemeister from turning. Is there an adaptor to accept the GS handguards onto...

Latakia is a type of pipe tobacco I'm enthralled with, or is that addicted to? Whatever. At the Western Bash in Torrey this year, I was introduced to all the attendees by their first names and r1150r.org "handles." Unfortunately, I am horrible with names and could only remember a few of th...

It's been a few years, but I remember a guy let me try one once. It feels alot like a combination of trying to keep a grenade from going off by holding it in your hands, and holding a helicopter rotor still. It did take some rythym to get them going. I see that they now have a rev string to help wit...

Montana

Montana is a terrible, terrible place to live. Desolation is always our somber companion. When you look up, all there is to see is the sky and God shaking His finger at you, saying, "If you whine that this is bad, I'll show you Wyoming!" Winds and inhospitable changes in temperature are co...
