Ghost rider rides again! Patched the tank, replaced the air box, replaced the battery and performed surgery on the wiring harness. Only took 12 hours and a case of beer. Now for the shake down ride.

Had the same problem. Turned out to be the stick coils. Ran great before catching on fire. Lol.

Rockster thought it was ghost rider

2004 rockster caught on fire last week. Main wiring harness cooked, air box is a puddle of charred plastic, a hole the size of a quarter in the battery, and last but not least a pair of holes in the fuel tank. How? Rough roads and a broken battery strap.

04 Rockster purchased 4/05
fuel quick disconnect leak at 2k miles
Both wheels bent around 6k miles. I still have no idea how it happened.
Powder coat on valve covers is starting to bubble at 13k miles.
burns about 6oz of oil every 1k miles

I've never hit redline in top gear on my rock. It's not for lack of trying. It just pisses out about 200rpm from the rev limit.

My average mileage is in the low 30's. I think that's mostly due to the heavy throttle hand.
