I used this site to determine the switched power source - the green wire. Other than that, they indicated that the MSU should be mounted on the air box. I used a MSD pickup for the RPM from them. This is a clamp around the wire rather then a tap into it. ($50.00). I am happy I did this. Overall, the...

I was cautious presenting this as I do not post much and do not want to appear to be selling something. Unfortunately I have no pics. I will take them if needed but truly they are not needed. The only modification I had was with the speed sensor bracket, and they were able to provide a good picture ...

HUD on the R1150R

I just put a Heads Up Display from SportVue on my bike. Since there is little information about it I thought I would put it here if any one was interested – I have no relation to them. I have an 04 R1150R and decided that I wanted a HUD and integrated into a radar detector. It took about 2 ho...

You will not void your warranty. The Federal Protection is the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act. It is lengthy and not clear in its true form. It effectively states that as long as the maintenance, modification or whatever, does not CAUSE the warranty issue, the fact that it is done by a 3rd party using ...

I have the problem, I am a private pilot (CFI actually), Motorcycles and Scuba. My next hobbies should be Parachuting and then Hang Gliding... I just have never really mentioned to my insurance company what I do. My wife briefly mentioned that I was a pilot but shut up after she saw his reaction. 8)

Mine has also done this. I took it to the dealer and they said it was a "3M" coating that was used to prevent fogging. There is no way to fix this except to replace the instrument. Mine is still under warranty if I ever get it there to have it swapped. The coating is inside glass of the in...

I had the Bel 946 radar detector on my bike. I velcro'd it to my clutch cover with a special type of plastic velcro. I had a major problem that the radar detector would alert to almost every car that had a radar detector, even if it was set to city mode. I eventually stopped trusting the alerts and ...

Warranty

The Magnusson-Moss warranty act affectively states that you or a third party can do maintenance without voiding your warranty. The only catch is that if you poorly adjust or neglect to perform an action or use a part that causes damage, BMW would not be responsible for the damages under the warranty...
