Shipper Recommendation?
Shipping from Nashville to New York City. Does anyone have a company they recommend? I'm seeing prices of around $450 +-$50. There is also a shipper called Forward Air that does airport to airport crate transfer. Anyone used them with success?

I have painted cases
I have painted cases on my Rockster. I bought 'em that way off of ebay. I actually don't like them at all. They show everything and scratch easily. I wish I could get my hands on some pebble black ones.

For Touchton
Both in Nashville? How have our paths not crossed? I've never seen another Rockster rider here. I'm around Vandy/Green Hills. Maybe catch up for a ride?

I think you're right
Evaporation seemed to have fixed the problem. And by the way, by "high pressure was" I meant garden hose with a nozzle, although driving through a car wash would be a hell of a sight.

problem solved
I got some plastic tubing and siphoned about 2 gallons out of the tank. I must not have gotten much water in there, because after parking it outside in the sun for 2 hours with the cap open, it started right up. Maybe just water on the spark plugs?
and, visor up!

Those big brushes feel so good on your back when you are riding through one.

I'm pro-ABS
I rode a Honda CBR 600 before my Rockster. Obviously, totally different bikes, but still, I weigh in on the pro ABS camp. I can really see where they would save my ass in wet or slippery conditions. I'm sure they already have once or twice. When I first got my bike, I rode it in a slick blacktop par...

Water in the gas tank...theoretically of course
Let's not ask how, but 1 unlatched gas cap + one high presure car wash = bike does not start. Stupid.
I drained 90% of the tank via siphon, now it's out in the sun hoping for expedited evaporation.
How do I fix this???

Same thing happened to me
1600 miles and a screw in the back tire. This happened on my CBR 600 a few years back. I thought about the plug, but decided to replace the tire. My dealer cut me a deal on the new tire (Matt at Bloodworth is great), and I opted to be safe rather than sorry.

Anyone in NYC with Rockster advice?
I'm moving to NYC at the end of the month. Selling my German supercar, but keeping my German superbike! Does anyone have any practical advice for riding, parking and security in NYC? I'm planning on living in SoHo or the West Village. I was up there last weekend and know there is at least one other ...

Great bike. You're right, tigers are the fastest! I just took mine on a 1000 mile trip through TN, NC, SC and GA. You guys have got to ride "The Dragon" near Deal's Gap, NC!

Hmmm...
Thanks for the thought. But by that logic, Chicago BMW wouldn't be making money at that margin and hence, wouldn't be selling parts online at 20% off. I'm not saying they are making a killing, but even if they are making 5% X all the members on this board it is still more than they would be making j...

Criminal prices
I thought the same thing. I was determined to get some on ebay, which I finally did. Then I needed the railmounts and the bridge thingy. All in all I spent about $600 piecing it together. In retrospect I would have rather gotten the cases new, as mine have the painted finish and I would have liked t...

33 days...and waiting
Still waiting for the replacement part I sent back over a month ago. Anyone want to start a betting pool? I guess nobody from Chicago BMW has ever been on this site, or the parts manager would be fired. You would think one of the other dealers would see the market opportunity here. It seems like we'...

Way more than slow!
Chicago BMW does have a 20% discount, but I have to say they were more than slow. It took 28 days to get my parts to me, and even then, I only think I got them because I called after 3 weeks. Not to mention, they left off my condo number, they checked the box "adult signaure required" forc...

Recommend GPS units?
Hey All:
I'm thinking about buying a GPS unit. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm currently looking at the Garmin Quest and the StreetPilot. The StreetPilot suction cup mounts, so I figured I could just stick it to my speedo when using it and use the GPS display for speed and distance.
Thanks!

Best place to order parts?
Is there some kind of discount parts place out on the 'net that undercuts the dealers? I'm just looking for some basic parts to mount up my new system cases.
